Xavier Pavie is a philosopher, Professor at ESSEC Business School, program director at the International College of Philosophie (CIPh), director of the iMagination center. He is also an associate researcher at the Institut de recherches philosophiques (IREPH) Université Paris Nanterre and responsible for the Philosophy for Responsible Innovation program with the Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP). With a master's degree in management and a master's degree in philosophy, he holds a Ph.D in philosophy with a Habilitation for Research Direction. He is also a graduate of the International Teachers Programme (HEC Paris) and the Global Colloquium (Harvard Business School).

After spending nearly fifteen years in various organizations (Nestlé, Unilever, Club Méditerranée), mainly focusing on innovation, he joined ESSEC Business School in 2008 to lead the Institute of Strategy and Innovation in Services.

In 2012, he founded the iMagination Center, which is dedicated to imagination, innovation, and transdisciplinarity for the emergence of responsible innovation. The center has trained over 15,000 students (Bachelor's, Master's, and executive) and has received several awards for pedagogical innovation in France and internationally.

His research is dedicated to the philosophy of spiritual exercises, which he applies to innovation, imagination, lifestyle, and responsibility. In 2011, he was tasked with defining responsible innovation with the support of an international university network as part of a project supported by the European Commission. In 2014, he was appointed President of the "Innovation-Regulation-Governance" evaluation commission of the ANR (National Research Agency) within the "Horizon 2020" framework. In 2022, he was elected program director at the Collège International de Philosophie with the research theme: Critical Philosophy of Innovation: Philosophical, Societal, and Economic Issues.

From 2016 to 2022, Xavier Pavie was the Academic Director of the Grande Ecole program in Singapore. His years in Asia allowed him to deepen his research on responsible innovation with a perspective beyond the European context. This notably led to the development of several case studies with NGOs in the Philippines (Gawad Kalinga), Cambodia (Pour un Sourire d'Enfant and Passerelles Numériques), Malaysia (Dignity), and India (Auroville).

Xavier Pavie has published around twenty books and articles, both academic and for a wider audience. His book, "L’innovation à l’épreuve de la philosophie" (PUF 2018), was voted the best management book of 2019 by FNEGE.

As a visiting professor at Kaunas University (Lithuania) in 2015 and 2016, he regularly teaches at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium), the Hautes Études de Gestion de Genève (Switzerland), and La Trobe University (Australia). He also teaches "Ancient Wisdom" at the Institut Catholique de Paris.

Xavier Pavie has been recognized as one of the most influential personalities in the world in the Education category (LinkedIn Top Voices—No. 5).
