Abstract
This article studies the career plateau of those over 50 years of age in order to understand the feeling and perception of the end of one’s working life. In order to define the sens of the end of one’s working life, we have conducted a qualitative exploratory study of 20 employees between 50 and 64 yers old of a single organization. This research shows that the sense of the end of one’s working life has implication on both the personal and organizational levels. For example, on the individual level, it implies the pursuit of an autonomous life, both at work and away from work.
