Abstract
Data warehouses are dedicated to decision making Decision makers typically access them through OLAP tools, based on a multidimensional representation of data. Therefore, although previous work on data warehouse quality has often been centered on data quality, multidimensional schemas quality is also crucial. This paper deals with multidimensional schemas quality, more specifically with the “analyzability” and “simplicity” criteria, which are decomposed into sub-criteria and assessed through metrics. The main objective is to help the multidimensional schema designer to find the right balance between analyzability and simplicity.
