Abstract
Contrary to what is generally assumed, “ethics” originally meant the mere “behaviour” of actors. Confronting this original meaning with the current normative one makes room for a new understanding of the tension between what is and what should be any level – including the organizational one. Such a renewal makes room for a deepened understanding of decision making processes which are at the core of the relations between ethics, time, and organizations.
