Abstract
This study analyses two successful models of French high-tech clusters: Genopole and Futuroscope. The former was financed by charity initiatives, the latter by a theme park. Several empirical parameters were used to measure the development of those unusual science parks, such as technological positioning, funding, job creation, property stratregy, teaching and research, and budget allocations. The study also probes into the European policy to support scientific innovation through tax incentives.
