Chiaroscuro in Negotiations: Secrecy, Transparency, and Asymmetry in International Negotiations

Year
2013
Abstract
This chapter analyses the tension, in international negotiation, between the traditional need for secrecy towards external parties and the modern demand for transparency. It builds a taxonomy of negotiation processes depending on the negotiators’ preferences in terms of exposure.
