Biography

Francis Declerck is co-Chair Professor of the ESSEC "Shaping the Future of Finance" Chair, in partnership with AXA IM Alts, EIFFEL IG and Société Générale.

Francis Declerck teaches corporate finance and agricultural futures markets.

His research interests focus on corporate finance (key-factors of performance and risks, M&A) and commodity finance, particularly in the agri-food chains and the biofuels.

He is co-responsible for the Commodities, Energy, Corporate Risk, and Investments Assets (ECOMFIN) Research Center at ESSEC http://energy-commodity-finance.essec.edu/

He coordinates the finance track of ESSEC Master's in Management (Grande Ecole programme).

He is the academic director of the "10KSB-France" program of ESSEC – Goldman Sachs Foundation.

He is the academic director of the "Aristée" management programme for executives of agricultural co-operatives. The program is managed by ESSEC in partnership with La Coopération Agricole and DIRCA.

From 2015 to 2009, he co-chaired the ESSEC European chair for excellence in food chains in partnership with Danone group, Carrefour group and Coutrelis & Associates.

From 2001 to 2010, he was board member of the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA).

From 2008 to 2012, he was member of the Conseil stratégique de l'agriculture et de l'agro-industrie durables (CSAAD), strategic council for sustainable agriculture and food industry at the French Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries when Mr. Michel BARNIER and Mr. Bruno LEMAIRE were the Ministers.

Since 2007, he has been member of the advisory board of the research network "System Dynamics and Innovation in food Networks".

Since 2001, he has been member of the French finance association (AFFI).

Since 2014, he has been a member of the agri-food business think tank of "Les Echos".

Since 2017, he has been member of the Euronext Commodity Committee.

Francis Declerck trains executives from institutions (EBRD, DG Agri of the EU, Banque de France…), international corporations and co-operatives.
