Mais si les prévisions sont fondées sur le passé et le présent, les résultats peuvent être biaisés. Chaque décision individuelle doit être prise dans un environnement en évolution. Les changements possibles et les ruptures aussi bien que les tendances doivent être envisagés pour faire de la prospective. Deux méthodes sont souvent utilisées : les scénarios et les visions. Elles sont comparées en termes de qualité. Une application est menée en interrogeant les chercheurs internationaux en management agro-alimentaires qui ont fait part de leur vision sur l¿avenir du secteur. "en" => "Corporate managers and policy-makers usually carry out forecasts to figure out the outcome of their decisions and actions. However, if forecasts are only based on present and past, results can be strongly biased! Possible changes and ruptures as well as trends must be incorporated in using «foresight » techniques, also called « future studies ». Two methods often used to form and analyze representations about the future (the scenario method and the vision method are compared in terms of value of the outputs using standard and ad hoc criteria.
