"en" => "The way media covers mediation processes and how media play their part in these peace processes largely determine the chances that mediation can take place, lead to peace agreements, and have lasting effects. However, the quality of information provided by the media to local populations is often determined by increasingly rapid and pervasive circulation of rumours and disinformation, by the fragility and polarization of the media and by the lack of exchange between the media and actors supporting these peace processes. This is often due to the fact that journalists need to learn how to differentiate the different types of actors in mediation processes to address the best needs of the people within these complex developments.
