En 1988, une médiation déboucha sur les accords de Matignon, prolongés et approfondis dix ans plus tard avec l'accord de Nouméa. L'article présente d'abord le contexte de négociation des deux accords et analyse leur bilan à ce jour. Il comprend ensuite un entretien avec l'un des principaux négociateurs de l'accord de Nouméa, Alain Christnacht, à l'époque conseiller du Premier ministre pour l'Intérieur et l'Outre-mer. In 1988, a mediation helped broker the Matignon Agreements, which were ten years later confirmed and consolidated with the Nouméa Agreement. The paper first presents the negotiation contexts of the two agreements, and analyses their outcome to date.
