Abstract
The desire of French people for individual houses has lead to the so-called “rurbain” in periphery of cities. Recent researches in city centers, notablly in Paris, have shown that inhabitants do not perceive correctly densities and urban shapes, rejecting towers in favour of Haussmann’s urbanism. Confronted to these tendencies, city planners advocate to densify cities, which might conduct to failures if they do not respond, at least partly, to French people’s demand. They should look for multipolar cities articulated on transportation networks.
