Abstract
This paper is the authors’ contribution to a forum on the war for talent. Drawing on their concept of the “Customized Workplace”, the authors argue that, to win the war for talent, firms and their managers will need to adapt their strategies, policies and structures to increasingly variable and changing needs and aspirations of their people rather than the reverse. Implementing the Customized Workplace means a Copernican, and necessary, revolution in management thinking and practice.
