Abstract
This paper examines whether or not philosophy can be useful in managing a modern firm. It proves that the intervention of philosophy in management is necessary, considering the scientific, technical, economic, social and political uncertainties that appear as an inevitable consequence of worldwide economic environment and the development of science and techniques. This vision of philosophy as an aid to management is an outcome of its history.
