HRD functions are important in implementing strategic initiatives but little has been reported on the linkages of HRD with organization redesign in the context of economic liberalization in India. This paper tries to understand how the professionalized role of HRD interact with the redesign process in response to changes in strategic initiatives. A survey of 54 organizations from India were analyzed to test the hypothesis.
