Abstract
The optimal power flow (OPF) problem models the generation and distribution of electrical power through a given network, at a specific point in time. The network, represented by a graph, is composed by nodes that generate and/or demand power and arcs that transport this power. In the power engineering community, the nodes of the network are called buses and the arcs are called (transmission) lines.
