Abstract
The business environment is marked by uncertainty and evolving rules and standards. The requirement of social responsibility and the proliferation of stakeholders exerting more influence means that company diplomats (lobbyists) have a different role, not only vis-a-vis governments but also vis-a-vis civil society.
