Abstract
Major technological changes and market uncertainties require that industrial companies make meaningful choices in human resources management, either by changing the existing staff through the recruitment of better-trained people or developing new competencies among the existing personnel. An extensive survey among industrial companies analyses the conditions and the nature of companies’ choices.
