Abstract
For the last few decades, conceptual modeling has grown considerably as a technique for representing all kinds of static or dynamic fields. It is always of great interest for the researchers since this technique continues to improve and to be supported by more and more rigorous methodologies and reliable tools. The Entity-Relationship (ER) Model was originally proposed as a help for database designers. It is now used in many other processes, such as systems analysis and design, ontology creation, process modeling, etc. The 35rd International Conference on Conceptual Modeling (ER2016), held in Gifu, Japan, November 14–17, 2016, was an international forum where these topics were richly addressed by the authors and participants.
