Expatriation as a Maturation Opportunity: A Psychoanalytical Approach Based on “Copy and Paste”
In order to understand the success of an expatriation, the traditional approach of expatriation generally focuses on theoretical models of the expatriate’s adjustment. The psychoanalytical approach seems more powerful in shedding light on the significant changes in the individual’s perception of himself and of his environment brought on by the experience of expatriation. An empirical study allows us to confront our theoretical approach to individuals’ factual experience of expatriation.
