Abstract
The need for a specialized course in sampling and sample surveys for future statisticians is usually not contested , the teaching of such a course (topics, pedagogical methods,…) produces many interesting and important questions. On the other hand, in business schools in both universities and “Grandes Ecoles”, introductory statistics courses do not usually deal with survey sampling and focus much more on data analysis methods. This presentation will describe some experiences of teaching survey sampling methods in both settings.
