In France, cities have grown when located on major communication cross-roads or along valleys, but other structural factors like the rate of executives, have played an important part. In the chapter are explored the different economic factors in the past and the future. The case of European cities is also examined in the light of the World Economy. Two corridors of city dynamics run through Europe from North to South.
