Abstract
This book provides an extensive perspective and a comprehensive view of currency crises on the theoretical and empirical sides. It analyzes the outbreak and propagation of crises following three types of models. It focuses on first, second and third-generation models of currency crises, and also discusses the role of the international financial system in preventing currency crises.
