"fr" => "Cette communication présente les résultats de deux enquêtes exploratoires sur les entreprises françaises qui commercent à l'aide d'Internet. La première enquête a été menée au printemps 1997 et la seconde au printemps 1998. Cette enquête est fondée à la fois sur l'étude directe des sites WEB et sur un questionnaire. L'étude des entreprises ayant déjà une vitrine et/une boutique électronique nous permet d'en tirer quelques conclusions générales. Nous montrons en particulier que les objectifs principaux des entreprises ayant opté pour le commerce électronique sont : - la facilité d'accès de la clientèle aux produits français, vingt quatre heures sur vingt quatre, - l'élargissement de la clientèle française. Les entreprises estiment que ces objectifs sont en général atteints bien qu'ils ne soient pas quantifiés. Nous concluons que les entreprises françaises commerçant sur Internet sont divisées en trois groupes selon leurs précédentes expériences sur Minitel.

"en" => "This paper presents the results of two exploratory surveys of French firms performing electronic commerce through the Internet. The first survey was conducted during spring 1997 and the second one was renewed in spring 1998. It is based both on a direct study of the WEB sites and on a questionnaire. The study of the firms, which already have an electronic shop, leads us to some general conclusions. We show in particular that the main objectives for the firms, which have decided on electronic commerce, are mainly: - facilitating customer access to products from home, twenty-four hours a day, - increasing the number of French customers.These firms estimate that these objectives are usually reached even if they are not quantified. Our conclusions are that French firms selling on the Internet are grouped into three categories according to their previous experience with the Minitel.
