Developed in collaboration with UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the case places students in the role of policy and innovation consultants tasked with designing responsible innovation strategies across multiple sectors: circular economy (textiles), low-carbon technologies (EV batteries, green hydrogen), trade system reform (critical minerals), food security, and innovative financing mechanisms.; Rather than focusing on a single country or firm, the case adopts a systemic, multi-actor, and multi-regional perspective, highlighting how trade rules, data infrastructures, institutional mandates, technology transfer, and financing mechanisms interact. Students must navigate real-world constraints-data gaps, geopolitical asymmetries, regulatory fragmentation-while proposing solutions that are technically feasible, politically realistic, and ethically defensible."
