Abstract
This article uses data from Qualified Immigrants (QIs) in France, and the predictions of two established theories (the push/pull theory and the prospect theory) to propose a conceptual framework for understanding QI’s success. We argue that the success of QIs depends on their motivation to adjust to their host country, which is largely explained by their motivation to migrate. We propose that the relationship between the motivation to migrate and the motivation to adjust is moderated by “met expectations” and “integration policies”.
