"fr" => "A future work self refer to a person’s representation of themselves in the future that reflects their hopes and aspirations in relation to work (Strauss, Griffin, & Parker, 2012). Future work selves motivate individuals to work towards their desired future, such as by allowing them to identify discrepancies with their current self and set goals to address them. The salience of a future work self, i.e., the clarity and ease with which it is imagined, determines its impact on behavior and cognition. Studies have linked future work self salience to positive career-related variables, such as proactive career behavior and a more intense and successful job search, as well as to job performance."
