The Financialization of Business Districts: The Case of Cœur Defense in Paris-La Défense
The financialization of real estate is reflected in the arrival on the French market of actors who consider real estate as one class of assets among others. This paper uses the Cœur Défense operation in Paris' La Défense business district to illustrate the relations between the real estate and financial policy of the new actors in financialization of the French real estate industry over the decade 1998-2008.
