Abstract
This chapter explores the trust factors that determine public support for pro-environmental policies and initiatives across a sample of developed and developing countries. Awareness, trust in governments, non-profits and companies, and trust in science and technology are analysed to produce a cartography of levels of trust which provides useful recommendations for improving strategies to increase public awareness and trigger citizens’ pro-environment actions.
