Abstract
This chapter explores the concept of responsible innovation and its importance in addressing environmental, social and economic concerns. It discusses the origins of responsible innovation in the context of corporate social responsibility and highlights the three pillars of responsible innovation: questioning the needs of individuals, measuring the direct consequences of innovations and considering the indirect impacts of innovations.
