Abstract
The paper submits the idea according to which some Business schools might use research to signal their overall strength, both in terms of research and teaching quality. We show that some of the feasible equilibria are socially inefficient, insofar as they feature a too strong research activity (and some relative neglect of pedagogical improvements) with respect to the perfect information case.
