Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of expatriates in the diffusion of HRM practices across the MNC by adopting an agency perspective. The study proposes a typology of forms of adoption Empirical results are presented on the basis of an ongoing case study of the transfer of a group-wide HRM practice from the headquarters of a French MNC to its foreign subsidiaries.
