Risk Protection and Exotic Options

Classical options are by now well known in firms and financial institutions. However, second generation options (also called exotic options) are not yet widely used. These instruments offer optimal solutions to certain specific problems. We present here some exotic options, their characteristics and a few examples of how they can be used for hedging.
