Many studies have been published to understand the European boom-bust property cycle of the mid 1980s. It is now well known that property markets are opaque. Relevant property data are very difficult to find, more specially for commercial markets, although more and more data providers or realtors have appeared on these markets. The aim of this paper is to make a comparative study of the current Property Databases in France. The first part deals with the features of the existing data. The second and third parts present the main data sources available to analyze the French housing and the French office markets respectively.
