Abstract
This chapter looks at the reasons for adopting a qualitative research method in information systems research. It shows how a research approach can be justified and how it can be used correctly. A number of research methods are discussed, such as action research case studies, ethnography, grounded theory, along with qualitative techniques and modes of analysis.
