Abstract
Industrial control methods were invented in environments characterized by technology and market stability and high direct labor costs compared to total costs. These methods are no more adapted to high diversity quick renewal products and to rapidly changing technologies. This paper makes a synthesis of present evolutions of industrial control systems tending to adapt them to this new environment.
