Abstract
In France chairman of the board of directors cannot receive “golden handshake” payment when he is revoked. He has no right to compensation. It is forbidden by case law. But, in fact, this law sometimes seems forgotten and it is dangerous. It is not the same in USA, and the subordination of the Latin countries to the Anglo-Saxon world generates an apparent but false uniformity. Anglo-Saxon and Romano Germanic law and culture are different. What is permitted in certain countries is not so in others.
