This article brings the main determinants of the adjustment of French managers on global assignment into focus. It designs a new model of international adjustment, which encompasses variables related to the expatriates' decision to move abroad. This model is tested with the answers obtained through questionnaires filled in by 293 French expatriate managers. The results give rise to pratical policies in the management of the expatriates.
