Abstract
This article analyses the economic side of the greenhouse effect. After reviewing the various scenarios about the possible temperature increases and their causes, it studies the social and economic consequences that could result. Then it analyses the cost of the fight against the world warming as well as the means to do so. It studies the Kyoto Protocol and its costs. Finally, it conducts a political economy analysis of the strategies to integrate the US and underdeveloped countries into the process.
