Le traitement médiatique des affaires de délits d'initiés

Cases of insider trading often capture the attention of the media because of the reputation of the individuals and firms involved. In order to assess precisely how the press deals with cases of insider trading, we have systematically reviewed the articles published in the 2000s by two leading and reputable French newspapers "Le Monde" and "Les Echos". The study is both quantitative and qualitative. The empirical study led to the recommendation that the media should address the cases more carefully and should look for a better balance between information and personal rights protection.
