Les réformes engagées par les différentes armées modifiant les principes et les organisations, ainsi que les chantiers lancés pour améliorer la disponibilité, amènent à dégager des principes communs. Un concept de management du maintien en condition opérationnelle (MCO) prend forme en intégrant la gestion des parcs, la logistique, la maintenance, les achats."
