Abstract
The authors observe an innovation deficit in management research while firms have initiated, over the last two decades, a sustained wave of radical innovation. Why is it then that a field that preaches innovation is unable to benefit from its own prescriptions? What are the factors of conservatism in management research? How is the academic institutional environment evolving and how will this impact on management knowledge production?
