The present context spawns feelings of inequity and undermines motivation. These phenomena can be illustrated by the rise of absenteism in France between 1990 and 1996. A close look at the age pyramid, at the various employment policies, at remuneration and promotion according to age enables us to identify risks and establish the principles of an equity-based management.
