Abstract
This study provides a snapshot of current HR practices affecting the employment of persons with disabilities in two key urban tourist destinations in Ontario. Despite some HR initiatives in Ontario’s hotel industry, overall, no best HR practices in this area could be found. Changes such as communication and education might lead to a new dialogue helping to demolish artificial barriers, stereotypes and perceptions which, so far, have prevented or limited the recruitment and integration of persons with disabilities in Ontario’s hotel industry.
