Abstract
In France, IPOs returned in summer 2013 and are largely transnational. A look back at some great operations that have hit the headlines is useful in order to introduce a comparative study of the different European law systems and the position of the French law in this field. European law thus acts in a limited way in anti-takeover measures and the states remain masters of their choice concerning takeover regulation. These findings coupled with a legal analysis of the market allows in fine to evaluate Florange law at fair value.
