Abstract
We first compare the objectives and methods of both management and philosophy through a historical analysis. We show that there is a formal analogy between these two historical evolutions. We then consider some of the characteristics of the world we live in : the special part played by science and modern technology, the political role of economics, and international economic life. We then show to what extent modern management should take advantage of some of the ideas developed by ancient Greek philosophers.
