In light of recent research, this book shows the real dynamics of the Great Depression. It shows, among other things, that the real cause of the crisis was not Wall Street speculation but the working of the gold exchange standard system. It also shows that the New Deal (which was not a Keynesian set of measures) has not put an end to the Great Depression.
