Abstract
Due to the current worldwide financial, economic and social crisis, the notion of common good is quite fashionable. It is nevertheless deeply misunderstood. Misunderstandings may favor an incapacity to tackle the CSR problem which is at the core of the tension between business and the common good. Tackling the problem relevantly needs questioning economics compared to politics. This is done through an examination of the roots of modern political sciences, which drives to considering the way ancient political philosophy may help revisiting the tension between business and the common good.
