Following an article published in "Les Echos" on May 28, 1997 several readers have published divergent points of view. This article answers various critics. It especially shows that the effect of unemployment on average time worked per week is very weak and also that part-time employment should not be taken into account when studying the relationship between unemployment and average time worked per week.
