In this article, we analyse mediations and facilitations in terms of group dynamics. Based on Bion’s theory of groups, we define two levels of analysis: the work group and the basic assumption group. We show, through a case study, that taking into account these two group dimensions and their tensions allows to improve mediation and facilitation processes.
